CIT 112 Chapter 1 Resume Builder

The object of this activity was to find 3 web based, career aptitude tests.Take the tests and compare the results.

The first website I went to was http://similarminds.com/career.html. It is a 58 question test. They do not require any registration or ask for your email or any other personal information.

The results were “You are a guide, possible professions include – career counselor, psychologist, educational consultant, special education teacher, librarian, artist, playwright, novelist/poet, editor/ art director, information-graphics, designer, HRM manager, merchandise planner, environmental lawyer, marketer, job analyst, mental health counselor, dietitian/nutritionist, research, educational consultant, architects, interpreter/translator.”.

The next test I took was, “The Princeton Review Career Quiz”.The URL is http://www.princetonreview.com/cte/quiz/ . There were a total of 24 questions. They also do not require any registration to take the test. The completion of the test gives you a color profile that correspond to your “Interest” and “Style”.

The third test was taken at iVillage. The URL is http://quiz.ivillage.co.uk/uk_work/tests/career.htm .They do not require any kind of registration as well. These are the results.

After taking the tests, they all seem to point toward similar careers. I feel that the results are very accurate in describing the type of person that I am and what I enjoy doing. I am a very analytical person and enjoy the success of solving complex problems.

I feel that the third test at iVillage was the most accurate. The results really pointed toward the way my mind has a tendency to work.
